The GFCCC is a program of the Business Institute for Sustainability, formerly known as the International Climate Change Partnership, a non-profit industry coalition headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area, first organized in 1991 to participate responsibly in the international climate policy process.

GFCCC is directed by a steering committee which sets the organization’s agenda, monitors progress in achieving priorities and oversees budgetary as well as legal matters.  The steering committee is led by two co-chairs from among the member companies.  The current co-chairs are:
